Height Question and Answer

Dale asks:

I am 16 and I dont seem to have grown much since I began puberty, the rest of my body seems to be developing normally but I am still just as short as I was when I was 14. My parents are both tall and told me height and genetics are connected somehow. Will I grow soon or have I stopped growing or something?

Answer:

Hello Dale,

The majority of boys grow to roughly the same height as their parents, if your parents are tall then you will most likely be too but you have not stopped growing just yet. Most boys reach their full adult height between the ages of 14-18 and can keep growing right up until 21+ when puberty comes to an end. Please try your best not to worry about your height, you have plenty of time to grow and it wont happen over night. Be patient, everything is normal.

Anonymous asks:

I am 13 years old and I want to know what the normal size is for a 13 year old, it is 5″ soft and 7″ hard?

Hello Anonymous,

7″ at 13 years old is normal however you may find that your penis is larger than boys of your own age on average. You have no need to worry.
Jack asks:

I start to cum when I think of anything sexual, I dont mean for it to happen and I feel abnormal or as if im over stimulated when I think of sexual things, is this normal to have this happen?

Males tend to be more visually stimulated than females so yes it is perfectly normal. It can be a little embarrassing but try your best not to worry over it.
Damon 17 asks:

What stage of puberty am I in, I mean is there any puberty left for me to go through? I have plenty of pubic hair, my penis is larger than when I was a kid and my voice is very deep too. I need to shave every few days too.

It sounds like you are coming towards the end of puberty, growing facial hair is one of the last noticable changes to your body during puberty. You may find this link of use – http://www.lavistachurchofchrist.org/LVstudies/GrowingUpInTheLord/Boys/TannerStage.htm

Spots Q and A

A concerned parent asked:

My daughter was ten years old end of September, she has since gets a lot of headaches and a lot of spots.  She also looks very pale most times.  She eats really well and i give her a vitamin each day which i think is supposed to help.

Answer:

Hello,

Spots always come and go during puberty, taking a vitamin each day certainly isnt bad for your daughters health but it may not be enough to combat the spots and having plenty of fruit and vegetables and a healthy diet with less greasy foods would certainly help with this. I suggest for you to make sure she washes her face before bed and in the morning and to also try out some anti-spot creams for example clearasil. If the spots are not going away after that then the best thing is to speak with her doctor, they will be able to provide further treatment/medication for the spots.

I have heard of Roaccutane which does have side affects but seems to work very well for most people.

If the headaches are frequent then I suggest also mentioning this to your GP.

Best of luck!
